The Forbes 2024 Best Customer Service List – What the top companies are doing right according to their customers??

Forbes, in partnership with hundredx, has again released their Best Customer Service list for 2024. This list is comprised of 4.2 million pieces of feedback from 201,000 customers on 3,000 different brands, across 80 different industries. All in the name of identifying the top leaders in customer service. Feedback is based on four critical dimensions of customer service: people, services, speed, and resolutions.??

Topping the overall list in order were The UPS store, Chick-fil-A, and REI. The top 10 spanned many industries including insurance, grocery, specialty stores, and auto-repair and maintenance.??

Across the board, the top contenders shared many common threads in their customer service philosophies – regardless of industry or type of business. Hassle-free, fast and friendly service was one of the most commonly identified pieces of feedback among the top placeholders. Making things as easy as possible for their customers was a common thread among the data analyzed for each business. This was followed closely by the relationships customers have with team representatives.? Number one place holder UPS, tributes their success to having team members who are true members of their community, who often know their regulars by name and maintain a close relationship with them.?

Why is it important to identify this kind of information? Shep Hyken, author of The Cult of the Customer, explains that the benchmark for customer service is no longer bound within direct competitors:?

?“Customers today no longer compare you to your direct competitor, but to the best service that they experienced from anywhere,” Hyken says. “People have been educated by these rock-star companies as to what great service and a great experience is all about, and you need to live up to that expectation.”?
